How has COVID-19 changed Cosmetic Clinics? And what are we doing to protect clientele and staff?

Following the latest guidance from the Prime Minister, we are excited to welcome you back to the Clinic on the 1st of August. During the past months, we have been hard at work helping the NHS and doing our part to combat Coronavirus. It has been a long few months without seeing our amazing clients, and we are excited to welcome you back.

It also seems that many clients are keen to return and get treatment in a safe and trustworthy environment. A survey about the return of cosmetic treatment after the lockdown was conducted, with over 2000 respondents. The results found that a staggering 98% of respondents wanted a non-surgical cosmetic procedure after lockdown. Additionally, 100% of respondents felt it essential for the practitioner to wear PPE, and 95% said it was essential that the practitioner is a trained Health Care Professional with a thorough understanding of infection control.

At AF Cosmetic Clinic, we welcome these results. We have taken the required steps to ensure the health and safety of both the clients and staff, enabling the Clinic to open for appointments.

So how will COVID-19 affect the Clinic?

Following guidance from the Government and Public Health England, we have made several changes in the clinic. These include:

  • Making facemasks a requirement to enter the clinic (which can be provided if forgotten)
  • Providing sanitiser to patients for use on entry and exit of the clinic
  • Increasing the frequency of cleaning to be carried out between each appointment
  • All staff will be fully PPE equipped during treatments
  • Staggered appointments to ensure no crossover and allow time for cleaning
  • All patients are required to arrive alone (special assistance can be organised in advance if required)
  • Closure of waiting rooms and toilets and replacing soft furnishings with easy to clean items
  • Implementing 2-meter social distancing rule between staff and patients, excluding during treatment procedures
  • Conducting virtual consultations before face-to-face appointments

By implementing these changes, we are doing our utmost to ensure our clients can safely return to the Clinic and receive treatment. Our head practitioner, Dr Fidal, is overseeing these changes to ensure we fully adhere to the guidelines. With over 34 years of experience, clients can trust that the Clinic is taking their safety very seriously.
