Laser Tattoo Removal

How It Works?

At AF Cosmetic Clinic we use advanced laser technology to remove tattoos. Laser tattoo removal is simple, safe and produce fantastic results. When you have a tattoo the particles of ink are too large for the body to destroy, so instead it encapsulates the ink particles with a network of collagen fibres. As the skin heals the tattoo remains.

The advanced technology works by allowing the light produce by the laser to pass through the skin and break up the tattoo ink into tiny particles. The body then dispose of these fragments via its immune system.
You might want to have a tattoo removed because you regret getting it, there was a problem with the design, or it has stretched or changed over the years. With the precision laser pointer we are able to remove parts of tattoos i.e names or mistakes made by a tattooist as well as removing the whole tattoo. So even if you love your tattoo but there is a small part of it you would like to change for whatever reason it is possible to do this with our laser.

At AF Cosmetic Clinic we accept nothing other than the best standard of pre-treatment, treatment and post treatment care.

How Many Treatments do I need?

Many factors come into play when considering removing a tattoo. At AF Cosmetic Clinic we are committed to providing you with the best treatment plan specific to your needs. Arrange a free consultation today to see how we can help.

Due to the nature of this procedure unfortunately it is impossible to predict exactly how many treatments it will take for complete results. It could take as little as  three treatments for an amateur tattoo or as many as 10 for a professionally applied tattoo.

How far apart are the treatments?

Your body needs time to break down the tattoo ink pigments after each laser treatment. This is a slow process, therefore you will typically schedule each treatment a minimum of 4-6 weeks apart.

What will my skin look like after each treatment?

Your skin will most likely be red and feel like has mild sunburn. This typically goes away after a couple of hours. There may also be some bruising.

At times and with certain inks, there may be mild blistering that usually heals in about a week. After each treatment you will be given detailed instructions on how to care for your treated area.

Will Laser Tattoo Removal hurt?

Patients have reported that laser tattoo removal feels like a rubber band snapping quickly on your skin. In order to make each patient as comfortable as possible, we offer anaesthetic (numbing) cream that can be put on the tattoo before each of your treatments. This makes the experience much less painful.
